Charlotte Dahlia taught me how to get through a temper tantrum....... low, calm, deep voice and explain to her about the situation. It did not work perfectly but it helped when she recently became addicted to the ANIMALS video from Baby Einstein. This is her first true enjoyment of the TV world. I'm happy that she finds joy from watching videoes. BUT as suggested, we've scheduled a bit in the morning and a bit at night without wavering from this schedule.

My updates have been too far between so here it goes: Charlotte Dahlia makes ANYTIME a fun time. She decided to ride UNDER the cart at BJs sitting facing me on the ledge near my feet facing me as her feet went rumbling along as I wheeled the cart. CD loves to walk up and down the isles at ANY supermarket or store. It can be hard to get her to stay seated but I tempt her with the thought of getting a chance to walk after I get some of the work end of shopping done. Seat belting her in does not necessarily work because she RIGGLED OUT in BJs and stood up! She did the same at home in her highchair. So, we're back to the harness in in the chair!
Fun, fun, fun with little C.

Ritual Change: Sometimes that which has worked for 10 or more months just needs a little tweaking to make it right again. For instance, Charlotte Dahlia now perfers her nighttime books and milk in her room on the floor with Daddy rather than in the living room where she has become waaaaaaaaaaay too distracted.

Walking is now a favorite adventure. Just touring the local Dollar Tree, Target or Giant by foot is a wonderful 1/2 hour of fun. Enjoy the little things in your life as a Mommy. Just watch and your little one will show you how to appreciate everything that comes along.

Television is only a distraction for Charlotte when she is playing. A mommy I know told me that it should be scheduled into her day so that when she DOES start to want it......she knows that it only comes once or twice a day at a certain time. Good thinking!

"Like a Light Switch"....that's how Andrea describes some milestones. Like walking: from coasting along furniture to one day just POP walkin' along. I agree...look carefully, that light switch turns on quickly - don't miss it!
